You Are Unique. Your CBD Dose Should Be, Too

Bianca Blesching, founder of UVAL Care, has created guidelines to help you get the most from your CBD practice.

If you have any questions or seek further information about UVAL Care tinctures or other CBD products, visit the online store at Uvalcare.com, or call Bianca directly at 775-237-3620 for personalized assistance. You can also meet her during the summer at the Tahoe City Farmers’ Market or the Village Farmers’ Market in Reno.

To deepen your understanding, attend Bianca’s class, Your Body and Mind on CBD, Sept. 11 at the Healing One Center in Reno. RSVP by calling 775-499-5393.

A common mistake among people who try CBD for the first time is deciding too soon that it doesn’t work for them.

“People try CBD once and then they say, ‘It’s not for me, it didn’t help me,” explains Bianca Blesching, founder of UVAL Care, a Reno-based business specializing in CBD tinctures, gummies, and topical treatments. “And the reason why is because it takes a little time and patience to discover your unique dose.”

Cannabidiol, known as CBD, is a byproduct of the hemp plant and a cousin to psychoactive THC and about 112 other cannabinoid compounds found in the plant. CBD has become popular over the past few years because it has positive medicinal and therapeutic properties without the “high” associated with THC. According to Peter Grinspoon, MD, in a Harvard Health Publishing article, studies suggest that CBD can relieve anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, inflammation due to arthritis (when treated topically), and tobacco cravings.

“It creates a sense of balance in our bodies to support the process of homeostasis,” Bianca says. She goes on to explain that CBD helps with a person’s “self-repair process,” whether a person is experiencing physical or mental stress in their body, and it can be used as a tool to deepen mindfulness practices — any peaceful ritual in which we engage, from yoga and meditation to a warm cup of tea in the evening. “It’s sort of an aid to sensitize you to your mindfulness experience and help you to create a sense of balance in your body and mind.”

However, CBD users might not experience its benefits if they are not tuned in to their specific dosing needs. CBD is not like a prescription from a doctor, Bianca warns.

“We are so used to going to the doctor’s office, and then they prescribe us a certain dose … but that’s not how natural plant medicine works.”

Because people have their own unique metabolic processes, Bianca warns that the dose prescribed by someone else likely will not produce the desired results.

“So it’s very important to pay attention … and to find one’s unique dose or sweet spot,” she says.

Passionate about connecting her clients with reliable, transformative results, Bianca created the My CBD Dose Assessment. This week-long record is a tool to determine the correct dose for you and only you. Each order from UVAL Care comes with an assessment card (also accessible on the company’s website, Uvalcare.com/cbd-dosing) for recording CBD intake and noticeable physical and emotional changes.

“Anyone starting a new CBD product should use the assessment program because every product is different,” she says.

Bianca has a strong background in the cultivation and dispensation of cannabis for its health benefits.

“I have been in the industry for 15 years,” she says. “I used to be a medical cannabis cultivator and have catered to medical dispensaries.” She adds that she also has been a dispensary owner and personal use consultant and has a Medical Cannabis certification. “I was eager to learn as much as I could.”

With this knowledge, Bianca developed UVAL Care products. Her formulations, all chemist- and physician-verified, include four unique tinctures that address specific needs: Sleep Aid, Relax, Relief, and Focus. Each tincture contains full-spectrum CBD plus two of the three additional cannabinoid compounds — CBG, CBC, or CBN — all of which have benefits similar to CBD but which work in the body in different ways.

“Full-spectrum CBD is superior because it offers a variety of plant compounds,” Bianca elaborates. “Together they work synergistically, like a musical ensemble, to enhance the plant’s therapeutic qualities. Experts refer to this process as the entourage or ensemble effect.”

Both CBD and CBG have anti-inflammatory properties.

“That’s why I gave the Relief tincture equal amounts of CBD and CBG,” she explains.

CBG also gives the Relax tincture its soothing properties. CBC is known for its anti-anxiety and anti-depressant functions, so the Focus formula contains the highest amount of CBC.

“And lastly, but not least, is the Sleep Aid tincture,” Bianca continues. “This bedtime tincture contains the CBN compound, which has sedative properties.”

Bianca herself uses the full lineup of tinctures and explains that each has its own place throughout the day.

“I like switching between them … you can use one in the morning, like Focus, and then Relax or Sleep in the evening.”

For new users seeking their perfect CBD routine, she recommends the “Flight of Fancy,” which includes one .33-ounce bottle of each.

“It allows people to see how each formula works for them,” she says.

Once you choose a tincture, Bianca recommends starting with the smallest amount possible and gradually increasing the dosage until you notice a shift in your physical or emotional state.

“Everybody has a different response to CBD formulas, ” she says, and then advises, “Whenever you shop for CBD products, look for three things: Full-spectrum CBD, hemp grown in the U.S., and third-party lab tests.”

Naturally, her products satisfy all these criteria. A correct CBD practice delivers beneficial but subtle changes.

“It may be hard to assess the shifts when life is chaotic and demanding our attention,” Bianca explains. With the CBD Dose Assessment card, she adds, people can notice gradual changes and then, “It’s like wow.”
