Queensrÿche
With more than 20 million albums sold worldwide, Queensrÿche is considered one of the leaders of the progressive metal scene emerging in the late 1980’s. The band received worldwide acclaim for their 1988 album, Operation: Mindcrime, followed by Empire in 1990, with the group receiving three Grammy Award nominations for songs in both albums. They also wrangled a Billboard Music Award and MTV Video Music Award for Silent Lucidity, plus two Concrete Foundation Awards.
Slaughter
Heavily influenced by the hard rock scene of the 1980’s, Slaughter’s sound has been described as both aggressive and melodic. Their debut album, Stick It to Ya, went on to sell more than two million copies when it released in 1990, achieving double platinum status. Their sophomore album, The Wild Life, was certified gold, and earned their highest-ranked song worldwide with Days Gone By, reaching number eight. Slaughter has also earned their fair share of critical acclaim, including an American Music Award for Hard Rock New Artist in 1991.
