Fall is an excellent time to think about edible gardening. Although the summer vegetables are winding down, there are lots of things that can be planted for winter or spring harvesting. Green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and spinach can be planted and will handle the first frosts in the fall. Onions and garlic are easy to grow for spring harvesting. Fall is also a great time to plant fruit trees. We will talk about starting these plants and caring for them over the winter. Vegetable and herb cultivation is the key to a successful harvest. These are just a few things we will discuss in our interactive, Family Friendly lecture class.
