An event every month that begins at 6:30 pm on day Last of the month, repeating until December 29, 2022
Building interest and participation in the sport of climbing is a top priority for BaseCamp, the climbing gym located on the 2nd floor of the Whitney Peak Hotel in downtown Reno. As a result, BaseCamp is now hosting monthly “Community Climb” sessions, encouraging new climbers to give the sport a try.
On the last Thursday of every month from 6:30-7:30pm (the next Community Climb is Thursday, March 31), BaseCamp will open its doors to members and guests. Each member can bring one guest for free; new climbers can participate for a nominal fee of $10 per person, which includes staff-led instruction, gear rental, and a day pass to the gym.
“Climbing has so many positive benefits, in terms of physical and mental health,” said BaseCamp manager Brian Sweeney. “We want to lower the barriers to entry for new climbers and share our love of climbing with them, in the hopes of inspiring passion for the sport in others.”
