Coffee and Comics
In March 2025, Coffee and Comics opened in another location in Reno, this time inside of the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel and Spa. The coffeehouse is located on the main level near the entrance to The Shore restaurant.
Cafe Lupine
Café Lupine opened its Truckee coffeeshop in March 2025. The owners, Dawn Neustel and Peter Knolla, met while working together at Glenshire Pizza. It took 10 months for them to find their location on Brockway Road.
Finbomb Sushi Burrito and Poke Bar
Finbomb Sushi Burrito and Poke Bar reopened in March with a location near the University of Nevada, Reno. The menu focuses on customizable poke bowls, ramen, and sushi burritos.
House of Ra
House of Ra is a yoga studio that also serves coffee and tea. The studio, located on Wells Avenue in Reno, celebrated its grand opening on March 8, 2025.
Ruby’s Shake Shop
Ruby’s Shake Shop started in Las Vegas but opened its first Northern Nevada location, at 1703 N. Virginia St., on March 6, 2025. The hamburger joint is a ’40s-style diner serving American comfort food, salads, and milkshakes.
Evo Hotel Tahoe City
Evo Hotel Tahoe City — curated by professional snowboarder, climate activist, and Tahoe local Jeremy Jones — opened on March 1, 2025. This dog-friendly hotel featuring Tahoe-themed rooms, sauna and cold plunge, gear rentals and demos, includes Sierra Surf Club Bar & Restaurant for coffee and grab-and-go menu items daily.
Bol de Mélange
Bol de Mélange joined the Reno Public Market on Feb. 18, 2025. Owned by Selman Ozhan, the restaurant’s menu is heavy in global eats, including wraps, salads, and schnitzel.
Bayou Bites
Bayou Bites landed in Fallon on Feb. 22, 2025. The father-daughter duo behind the Cajun-influenced eatery opened inside of the Grid Market and Brewery.
Lake Tahoe AleWorX
Lake Tahoe AleWorX opened a Reno location in the old Record Street Brewing spot and attached The Alpine building on East Fourth Street, celebrating with a grand opening on Jan. 30, 2025. The event-heavy space serves drinks, food, live music, and more with a rooftop bar and designated parking behind the building. For those familiar with the business’ South Lake Tahoe locations, take note that the Reno branch does not allow the pour-your-own option.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill
John Sande IV and Sepideh Arya-Sande opened The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Damonte Ranch Town Center in Reno on Jan. 27, 2025. They are franchisees of the growing brand, which started in Las Vegas and has achieved record growth this year. The husband-and-wife team also bought rights to additional Great Greek restaurants and may be opening more locations in the months and years to come.
City Brew Tours
City Brew Tours officially launched its Reno franchise in January 2025, with 3.5-hour brewery and distillery tours throughout the city. The van tours take guests to a lineup (usually three) of breweries and distilleries to taste their bounty and learn about beer and spirit making. If you book a group event, the itinerary is largely customizable.
Anneke Schat’s Coffee and Pastry
Anneke Schat’s Coffee and Pastry, a notable regional name, brings another bakery to the local landscape. The new spot opened in Washoe Valley on Jan. 18 with a vision for clean pastries with Dutch influence.
Hi Me Café & Lost Seoul Saloon
Hi Me Café & Lost Seoul Saloon celebrated a grand opening on Jan. 24, 2025. The Virginia City restaurant boasts a menu of Korean favorites served with the Old West charm for which VC is known.
Roots Indian Restaurant and Bar
Roots Indian Restaurant and Bar celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 24, 2025. The Indian eatery is located on USA Parkway in East Sparks. More Edible Updates
Mochinut Reno
Mochinut Reno celebrated its grand opening in Ridgeview Plaza in West Reno on Jan. 17, 2025. While there are many Mochinut franchises across the country, this marks just the third Nevada-based location and the first outside of the Las Vegas area. The shop, which features colorful and flavorful mochi-style doughnuts, also serves boba and corn dogs.
Yuki Ramen
A ribbon cutting for Yuki Ramen took place on Jan. 13, 2025. The ramen and Asian cuisine concept is located on Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
The Golden Dragon
Another restaurant expected to open soon is The Golden Dragon, moving into 999 Pho’s former spot, at 2309 Kietzke Lane in Reno. The Chinese restaurant comes from the family responsible for Golden Flower, Asia Market, and Poke King.
Sierra Nevada Bakery and Creamery
Sierra Nevada Bakery and Creamery opened in Downtown Reno, near The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, The Coconut, and La Famiglia.
The Wolf Den
The Wolf Den has had a somewhat complicated history of opening and closing. Located near Lawlor Events Center, it’s a popular bar for University of Nevada, Reno students. In June 2015, the Den shuttered again, but, as of 2025, it’s reopened.
HumiliTree
HumiliTree, a new horticultural consultancy and landscaping business in Reno owned by Tanner Petrilla, is up and running. The business will focus largely on caring for perennials.
The Coyote Saloon
Before 2024 ended, The Coyote Saloon opened its doors. The country bar combines sports and line dancing for an extraordinary Reno experience. Located on Kietzke Lane, the saloon opens at 3 p.m. daily, offering a rotating selection of line-dancing events, bottle service, DJs, and more. It also hosts food trucks each day.
Stoked Oak BBQ
At Alpine Meadows, Stoked Oak BBQ opened winter 2024. Located on the gondola side of the sun deck, the new eatery serves traditional smoked barbecue classics, including sandwiches and platters.
Gold Coast 39° North
Gold Coast 39° North opened at Palisades Tahoe. The restaurant specializes in Asian cuisine with a distinct Tahoe tilt.
Birdeez
Birdeez, a mini-golf and darts fun center in Downtown Reno opened on Dec. 10, 2024. It comes from the same owners behind Downtown’s Reno Axe and the Grand Sierra Resort’s Sensology, adding to the Downtown playground landscape. The business features several lanes of electronic dart games, three challenging mini-golf courses in varying levels of difficulty, and a full restaurant and bar.
