After a thrilling day on the slopes, there’s nothing quite like unwinding with a classic bourbon cocktail known as the Broken Leg Drink. Picture yourself nestled in a cozy mountain chalet, gazing out at the snow-covered peaks, and cradling a mug filled with this delightful warm concoction. The Broken Leg Drink is a beloved apres-ski tradition that has captured the hearts of skiers and snowboarders in ski countries around the world.

The origins of the Broken Leg Drink trace back to the Old Crow distillery in Kentucky, which not only crafted classic bourbon, but also held a unique philanthropic initiative. The owners of this business created specialty mugs for the cocktail and donated the proceeds to the National Ski Patrol, adding a heartwarming touch to an already cherished drink. To make this enticing beverage, you’ll need classic bourbon, apple juice, raisins, and a cinnamon stick, along with a lemon slice for that perfect citrusy twist. It’s a simple yet elegant cocktail that embodies the essence of relaxation and camaraderie after a long day on the slopes.

As you sip on your Broken Leg Drink, you’ll find the warmth of the bourbon mingling with the sweet notes of apple juice, while the cinnamon stick adds a comforting spice. This après-ski cocktail is more than just a drink; it’s a tradition that brings skiers and snowboarders together to celebrate their shared love for the mountains and the exhilaration of a day well spent. Enjoy this delicious drink with a hearty bowl of beef stew or green chili verde
