Known for their holistic benefits, loose-leaf tea blends have been enjoyed for centuries, and at Too Soul Tea Co. in Reno, the options are seemingly endless when it comes to combining these soothing ingredients. Morgan Nott, general manager at the tea shop, has honed the craft of tea blends with several in-house varieties and encourages staff members to create versions by hand to help customers with what ails them.

In-House Tea Blends
Too Soul Tea offers blends such as Soul Soother, containing licorice root, peppermint, and whole cloves, which aids in relieving congestion, sore throats, and basic colds; Tummy Blend, with licorice root, peppermint leaves, ginger root, and raspberry leaf, which is great for nausea and stomach problems; and Soul Mend, featuring a special blend of lavender, lemongrass, licorice root, peppermint, and ginger root, which soothes and relaxes the body. Nott has many customers who regularly come to her and her team for advice on which teas to try.

โ€œPeople like to know that things are good for them, and we can often help if they arenโ€™t feeling well,โ€ she says. โ€œIf they come in and have a headache, we know to suggest certain blends. The same goes with inflammation, cold and flu, and other ailments that we likely have elixirs and tea blends for that can help.โ€

Mix Your Own
Too Soul Tea also sells loose-leaf tea and various loose ingredients, including herbs, dandelion, lemongrass, and peppermint, that customers may purchase separately in miniature tins and mix at home. Nott and her team are happy to make it on site for those asking for specific blends while in the store.

โ€œI would ask them what benefit they want specifically,โ€ Nott explains. โ€œIf someone is coming in looking for help with sleep, we can recommend lavender, peppermint, and chamomile. If they need energy, we have yerba mate. For hormonal acne, we can work with spearmint. Itโ€™s on a case-by-case basis.โ€

At this family-owned and -operated business that opened in 2012, youโ€™ll find more than 100 types of loose-leaf tea, coffee, energy drinks, and pastries. With blends including crรจme brรปlรฉe oolong, banana macaron rooibos, raspberry vanilla mint, and seemingly endless herbal blends, Too Soul Tea has a concoction for every palate.
