Dead Plant Society: Beekeeping 101

This is year 4 of Urban Roots keeping bees onsite at our farm and at our community partner’s garden, Northern Nevada HOPE Springs. We’ve learned SO much as beginning beekeepers and are excited to share our knowledge in an accessible, and hands on environment. In this “Intro to Beekeeping” workshop we’ll cover the makeup of a hive, necessary equipment, and how to sustain your beehive through the winter. We will even conduct a hive check, walking you through all the steps. Everyone will go home with beekeeping resources galore, and one lucky Dead Plant Society attendee will leave with hives boxes!
