Bab Cafรฉ
Bab Cafรฉ reopened on Sept. 21, 2024, following a mandatory closure by the Northern Nevada Public Health Department in May after violating several codes. The owner had been keeping followers up to date on the reopening process, which included passing several health inspections, through social media.
Saltgrass Steak House
Saltgrass Steak House opened inside of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in Stateline on Sept. 20, 2024. The Texas-style steakhouse chain includes a No Bull Lounge as well as an expanded patio with firepits and additional seating.
The Little Bear Cafรฉ
New for the most recent ski season, The Little Bear Cafรฉ at Palisades Tahoe opened in September 2024 ahead of Palisades Tahoeโs season opener on Nov. 22, 2024. The cozy cafรฉ focuses on relationships with local purveyors and serves coffee, baked goods, artisan sandwiches, wine, and more.

Bruschetta joined the Stateline dining scene over the summer. The Italian concept had been in the works for over a year, while owner Erik Rhoades worked hard on the remodel. The Bay Area-transplant has lived at Lake Tahoe since the Covid-19 pandemic, and Bruschetta is his first Nevada restaurant after selling his California eatery four years ago. Champagne & Chocolate
In July, Champagne & Chocolate opened a second location on Plumb Lane in Reno. The first spot for the bar and dessert concept is in Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe. Chocolates are sourced from longtime local chocolatier Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory.
Mountain Mikeโs
Mountain Mikeโs opened its third area restaurant in Sparks. The new space is owned and operated by Dalvir Janjua, Manpreet Rai, and Kamaljit Singh, who not only own the two Reno locations but also two additional locations in Stockton, Calif. The Sparks location is on Baring Boulevard and boasts eight big-screen televisions, an arcade, a private party room, and an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.
Brooksโ Bar and Deck
Edgewood Tahoe Resort revamped its Brooksโ Bar and Deck, which reopened on May 17 for the first time since closing in October 2023. The space has been named among the Best Golf Pubs and one of the top 50 Best 19th Holes by Golf Digest. In addition to serving golfers off the green, the restaurant also is open to others coming in for a bite. The renovations included a full interior renovation and a reimagined menu.
The Par by Parlay6 Brewing Co.
The Par by Parlay6 Brewing Co. opened on May 8 in the old Wonder Aleworks space in Midtown. In addition to beer, the new spot includes a full bar and food items.
Coffeebar
Coffeebar has a new bakery in Truckee on Donner Pass Road, which opened on May 3. This location promises a robust tea and coffee menu, as well as an assortment of baked goods, breakfasts, and lunch options that include Roman-style pizzas. There also is the promise of weekend doughnuts. The bakery is inside the transformed former Tri-County Bank building, as one of a slew of local businesses bringing the space new life.
No. 731
A bar has opened in the cottage behind Calafuria named No. 731, a nod to a number listed on the building that dates back to 1914. The new spot, which officially began welcoming patrons on April 19, will borrow Calafuriaโs kitchen to serve small Italian bites along with a menu of crafted cocktails and sustainably sourced wines.
Osteria Sierra and Guests Only at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe
Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village has made a few changes to its dining destinations. In addition to remodeling and reopening its cafรฉ as an Italian-Alpine fusion restaurant named Osteria Sierra in mid-March, the resort also debuted a new event space called Guests Only. Specifically created with private events in mind, the speakeasy-style lounge is located on the resortโs 11th floor.
Tasteful Tangle
Tasteful Tangle opened on March 29 in Renoโs Kings Row area. The tagline is โelevated urban takeout,โ and the menu includes everything from avocado egg rolls to flatbreads and bowls. The full menu is available on the website and seems to include a little of everything, including non-alcoholic drinks.
Perenn Grocery
Perenn Grocery, the newest venture from Perenn Bakery owners Aubrey and Tyler OโLaskey, opened on March 23, 2024, at The Village at Rancharrah in South Reno.
Pasta La Vista
Pasta La Vista opened inside of Reno Public Market on March 13, 2024. Itโs an Italian eatery making its name by serving pasta from inside of a cheese wheel.
No City Coffee
No City Coffee, part of Great Basin Community Food Co-op, expanded into West Street Market on March 6, 2024. The business will start as an espresso bar, but there are plans to eventually become a bar with only non-alcoholic offerings.
Wolf by Vanderpump
Wolf by Vanderpump finally opened in April inside Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino. Originally slated for a November date, the Lisa Vanderpump-owned business is the first in Reno Lake Tahoe but the third in a series of Nevada-based business ventures in partnership with Caesarโs Entertainment. Her other two locations are in Las Vegas, each with its own theme.
Apres Pop
Daniel Feldman, a Truckee resident, launched a popcorn company called Apres Pop. Sold as a bagged snack, the popcorn comes in three flavors: salty and savory, Sichuan chili, and curry leaf. Feldman has a cottage business license that allows him to operate in his home. In addition to plans for expansion, heโs also focused on high-quality and local ingredients.
CaiE Foods: CaiE Oriental Bistro and Steaming by CaiE
The University of Nevada, Reno added two new dining options to its campus from Sparks-based dim sum producer CaiE Foods: CaiE Oriental Bistro and Steaming by CaiE. Students and other visitors to campus can enjoy the locally crafted Chinese cuisine.
Great Basin Brewing Co.
The fourth and newest location of Great Basin Brewing Co., under the ownership of Mark Esteeโs Reno Local Food Group, opened in Minden in February 2024. Great Basin has been serving the community for 30 years.
Thaniaโs Juice Bar
Thaniaโs Juice Bar, an all-organic juice and smoothie bar with healthy eats, celebrated its grand opening inside The Basement on Feb. 18, 2024. The restaurant has another location in Incline Village.
Sugar Blvd
Sugar Blvd, a small, family-owned ice cream shop, opened on Feb. 1, 2024, in The Sticks center in Midtown Reno. Perfectly pink and full of sweetness, the store offers Hoch Family Creamery ice cream by the scoop and colorful, house-made waffle cones in a variety of flavors.
The Biggest Little Cafรฉ
On Jan. 17, 2024, The Biggest Little Cafรฉ opened in the Reno City Hall lobby. The coffee shop is operated by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation Vocational Rehabilitation Bureau and employs those with visual impairments.
Tangerine Bistro
Tangerine Bistro, a French restaurant and sister business to Great Gold, opened in Truckee on Donner Pass Road on Oct. 31, 2023. Chef Brandon Kirksey is at the helm.
