On Oct. 12, 2024, owner Matt Johnson announced that IMBฤชB Custom Brews had taken home gold in the bock category for its Pan is Alive Maibock.
Schรผssboom Brewing Co.
Schรผssboom Brewing Co. in South Reno also took home an award from the 2024 Great American Beer Festival. It was announced on Oct. 12 that the brandโs Bear Bait Raspberry Honey Wheat Ale won bronze.
Sterling Farms Nevada
Jeannie Damonte, a Nevada farmer and owner of Sterling Farms Nevada, represented the U.S. at a panel hosted by Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome on Sept. 30, 2024. She was the only representative from the U.S. on the panel of women-only farmers.
Bistro Napa
Bistro Napa, an Atlantis restaurant, received a AAA Four Diamond designation on Sept. 30, 2024. This marks the restaurant as part of the top tier of the hospitality industry in North America. It is not, however, Atlantisโ first similar recognition. With the Atlantis Steakhouse holding the title since 2013 and the resort as a whole having its own AAA Four Diamond rating since 2012, the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is now the only property in Northern Nevada to boast multiple AAA Four Diamond restaurants in addition to being a AAA Four Diamond hotel.
Frey Ranch Distillery
Frey Ranch Distillery canโt stay out of the news โ and for good reason. The Fallon-based brand added two Double Golds to its portfolio of awards at the recent 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, going up against 500 bourbons from around the world. The Grey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut and Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel #1209 were the big winners.
ReStore Reno
ReStore Reno has been providing money to downtown businesses as part of its effort to reinvigorate the area. In the second round of giving, ReStore Reno handed out $589,000 in grants to 29 businesses. Awardees include Dead Ringer Analog Bar, Our Bar, Horseshoe, The EP Listening Lounge and more. In total, ReStore has given more than $1 million.
Atlantis Steakhouse
Atlantis Steakhouse recently received the Forbes Four-Star Award, and itโs the first restaurant in Northern Nevada to do so. In fact, only 121 restaurants worldwide received the honor this year. The designation comes from inspectors who visit anonymously. In addition, Bistro Napa received a Forbes Recommended Rating.
The Depot Brewery & Distillery
The Depot Brewery & Distillery in Reno has 10 years of business under its belt, and to celebrate, itโs launching a new initiative called Helping Hops. The yearlong program will use proceeds from a series of collaborations to benefit Northern Nevada charities. One dollar of every collaboration beer sold will be donated.
Frey Ranch Distillery
Frey Ranch Distillery owners Colby and Ashley Frey are celebrating 10 years of making whiskey at their Fallon ranch. The business is continuing the festivities all year long with several events and specials to commemorate the milestone.
