The Carson City food community bid farewell to a beloved local. The owner of Villa Basque Cafรฉ and Deli, Pete Coscarart, died at 72. On Feb. 10, 2026, a celebration was held at the cafe.ย The restaurant will remain open, run by his son-in-law Josue Valladares. A community celebration of life is scheduled for Feb. 28, 2026, at Calvary Chapel in Carson City.
