Sprig Smash

2 ounces bourbon
8 blackberries or raspberries
½ ounce lemon juice
1 ounce Douglas fir simple syrup
Ginger beer
Muddle berries in shaker, then add ice, bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake well and pour everything into glass. Top with ginger beer.
