Want to nosh on some flavorful foods typically found in New York City? Craving a mile-high Reuben sandwich layered with thousand island dressing and sauerkraut, or perhaps a New York-style pizza? Then do not pass go โ head immediately to the Manhattan Deli at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Atlantisโ assistant executive chef David Holman was a fan of the deliโs towering meats stacked between freshly baked bread for years before he worked on the property. Prior to living in Reno, Holman lived in Manhattan, where he fell in love with the distinctive cuisine found in the prevalent Jewish delis around the East Coast metropolis. Upon arriving in The Biggest Little City, he discovered the Manhattan Deli could sate those delicatessen desires.
Voted โBest Jewish Deli in Nevadaโ by The Nosher, the Manhattan Deli boasts authentic Jewish cuisine such as chopped chicken livers, beef tongue, bagels with lox, matzo ball soup, latkes, and potato knishes alongside house-made Italian dishes such as chicken Parmesan. Wash them down with a Dr. Brownโs soda, milkshake, or malt. Cap off the experience with the deliโs luscious New York cheesecake or hot apple pie ร la mode.
โAll the items found in a great New York deli are here,โ Holman says.
Canโt stop thinking about corned beef and cabbage, even though St. Patrickโs Day is still months away? Find it daily in the Manhattan Deli. Or try the creamy coleslaw, one of chef Holmanโs favorite items on the menu.
You donโt need to leave the city limits for a decadent meal reminiscent of New York. Thereโs one waiting for you right in your backyard.
