About the artist
Candace Garlock
Title of Print: Harvest Wind
Medium: Collagraph intaglio print
“When I was asked to respond to the theme of Nevada fall crops, I immediately envisioned my husband in past years, consuming our homegrown tomatoes as soon as I brought them in from the garden. I also thought about potatoes and how they grow from a spiral of shoots, creating a vast network of tubers and fibrous roots. As the image emerged, I found myself cutting and piecing elements together in a circle that felt like wind rotating. We have so much dry wind here in Nevada, and I’m still amazed at how many crops we do grow.”
