Chalk Art Festival

Chalk Art Festival

Atlantis becomes a canvas for creativity.

Between Friday, July 9 and Sunday, July 11, the Atlantis Resort Casino Spa will host some of the best chalk artists of all ages from around the region and country during the popular Reno Chalk Art & Music Festival.

During the event, the Atlantis’ west parking lot will boast a plethora of impressive artistic skills along with a riot of colors on the vast asphalt canvas. Dozens of extraordinary chalk artists will show off their tremendous talents as they compete for prizes in multiple categories, such as Best Use of Color, Best Use of 3D, and Best Reproduction of a Master’s Work.

Linda Houry won the Best Reproduction category for the “Melchizedek and Abram Reims Cathedral”

“Since the beginning of this pandemic, we have been deeply committed to providing a safe environment for our guests and team members,” says Cheraz Ecker, Atlantis general manager. “We feel this outdoor event in our spacious parking lot will be the perfect way for our community to celebrate art, music, and, most importantly, each other after an unprecedented year.”

Maribeth McFaul won in the Individual Division for her “Live a Life You Are Proud of: Tribute to Claire Wineland”

Guests can peruse the art while taking in live entertainment, plus music from artists, including Jeremy Cornwell, Eddie Cotton, Eric Anderson and Henry Undercover, Whesli, JP Soars, David Gerald, and Onoleigh Pommier. Local arts-and-crafts vendors also will be sharing their wares, food vendors serving delectable fare, and Great Basin Brewing Co. pouring refreshing brews.

Experience exceptional artistic talent for three days at the Reno Chalk Art & Music Festival.
