See what’s brewing at Revision Brewing Co. in Sparks.

Located in a sprawling 30,000-square-foot building in Sparks, Revision Brewing Co. has brewed award-winning, hop-forward beers since 2017. The second nationally distributed brewery that brewmaster and CEO Jeremy Warren founded, Revision brings an edgy vibe with a constant flow of new releases to the Sierra-based roster of beer purveyors. As success continues to bubble up for the beverage maker, Warren and his team have big plans for their new seltzer, expansion project, and possible second location.

Brewery Backstory

After parting ways with his previous brewery in Northern California (Knee Deep Brewing Co. in Auburn), Warren and four other founding team members, Brittani Youngker, Jeb Taylor, Ken Foster, and Darla Roberts, relocated to Nevada, where they discovered the perfect location for Revision. It was a natural move since a majority of the founders, including Warren, had roots in the region.

“[We opened] with a handful of employees and only three beers on draft, all of which were hoppy, and there was an echo in the brewery due to the minimal footprint that the brew system took up,” Roberts recalls. “The brewery now has 28 incredible employees, 24 products on draft in a variety of styles, and the warehouse is almost out of room.”

The Hoppy Way

With the ability to meld the forceful character of hops with a soft, approachable style, Warren’s roster of brews is laden with this signature flavor profile, giving them the welcoming essence for which all his beers are known.

“There is an assertiveness about hop-forward beers, a boldness that we hang our hat on,” Roberts notes. “Much like a chef, a good brewer has a signature style that is distinguishable and detectable regardless of where they are brewing, thus resulting in a well-balanced, highly aromatic, low bitterness beer that dances across your taste buds.”

For the first two years it was in business, Revision was known as an IPA brewery. Since then, head brewer Mike Sotiriadis has expanded the menu to include lagers, barrel-aged imperial stouts, porters, hazy and West-Coast IPAs, reds, and seltzers.

“We have been really excited to share these extremely clean beers with our fan base and show that quality doesn’t stop at our award-winning IPAs,” Roberts explains. “It transcends to these delicate beers that don’t offer anything to hide behind. I feel our fan base likes this as an offering because they are refreshing and enjoyable no matter your mood.”

Accolades and Ambitions

The brewery’s Revision IPA won a gold medal in the 2018 World Beer Cup in the American-Style India Pale Ale category, and its Double-Up IPA (aka DIPA) won a silver medal in the Imperial India Pale Ale category. Only four other breweries in the history of the World Beer Cup have medaled in both the American-Style and Imperial India Pale Ale categories in the same year.

With momentum at full speed, Revision is launching a seltzer brand in cans. The seltzer has been in development since summer 2021 and currently is available on draft in the Revision taproom. The owners also are working on an expansion at the brewery in Sparks that will take production up to a 23,000-barrel capacity. And Warren and his team have a location search in the works in Las Vegas for a second brewery and taproom to solidify their vision to become Nevada’s favorite craft brewery.

Heidi Bethel enjoys kicking back with a cold one and cannot wait for the chance to crack into Revision seltzers. She’s big on supporting local breweries and has a fond appreciation for the art that goes into mastering the craft.
